Blog

I came across Bookkake while reading the Book Oven blog. (Hehehhe. Sorry. Couldn’t help myself. Oh that was funny. Give me a minute to stop laughing. Okay. Deep breath. Focus.) Where was I? Oh yes, the Book Oven blog. The Book Oven blog gets its own post. Later. This this post is about Bookkake, which — first of all — gets the prize for best name ever.

Founded by James Birdle, Bookkake is an independent publisher “dedicated to new and classic works of transgressive literature”. From the home page:

We love dirty books.

Books that rub off on your skin, that clot beneath your fingernails; leave you shaking, and panting for more. Literature should have a physical effect on you, making you moan and scream. We love dirty books.

The model? Entirely print-on-demand and web-oriented. All e-versions are free. And readers can help correct typos using Bookkake’s Get Satisfaction account. (Yes, it just keeps getting better.)

Great idea, beautifully designed website and books.

Still want more?
