Charting the first year of Libre Graphics magazine, a publication intended to give voice to the libre graphics user community. ginger, Ana, and Ricardo explored the motivations of the publication and its editorial team, and highlighted the trials and triumphs encountered in the first year of the production and development. Libre Graphics magazine is published using a fully F/LOSS workflow, building in such libre graphics staples as Inkscape, GIMP, and Scribus.

Libre graphics software — like GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, the Open Clipart Library, and the Open Font Library — are important to Artefatica as a open publishing project. We want to make open books with open tools. More broadly, I find it exciting to think of a set of tools for self-expression and self-publishing that are available for anyone, anywhere.
